Paramount is bringing the button-mashing combos of Capcom’s genre-defining Street Fighter franchise to life with a true ensemble cast that was unveiled to audiences at The Game Awards 2025.

Led by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo in the starring roles of Ryu and Ken Masters, the far-reaching roster of talent includes some predictable picks, such as action movie mainstay Jason Momoa as Blanka, rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, and current UFC Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski as Joe. But there are also some more creative casting choices in the mix, including comedian Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Saturday Night Live alum Kyle Mooney as “Marvin,” and screwball comic Eric André as Don Sauvage.

André’s role in particular isn’t as much of a surprise when considering that the movie is helmed by Kitao Sakurai, who previously served as the director and executive producer of Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show and Netflix’s hidden camera prank-driven comedy Bad Trip, which André also starred in and produced.

While full of special moves lifted directly from the games, the sneak peek that premiered at The Game Awards 2025 didn’t reveal any of the plot. For more on the story, see the synopsis below:

Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu and Ken Masters are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!

Street Fighter is set to release in theaters on October 16, 2026. See the first trailer below:
