For people who love the outdoors, spending more time doing what you love needs no debate. But how do you do it? Now that’s an endless conversation. One of the best ways to get out and stay out, as many adventure lovers have learned, is to get a motorhome. But what kind? For real freedom, you want a vehicle that can manage tight roads and campgrounds, is outfitted for off-grid camping, and is so comfortable you’ll never get tired of the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living. The folks at Grech RV understand exactly what you need, which is why they’ve been making handcrafted motorhomes for more than four decades. The family-owned company builds exclusively on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, adding unparalleled fit and finish and setting a new standard of quality and luxury for Class B motorhomes (a nimbler size category).

That’s why Brian and Michelle Cortesio chose a Grech RV for their life on the road. When the couple followed through on their dream of selling their house and diving into adventure full-time, they knew they needed a reliable, high-quality vehicle that would support remote work and allow them to explore the country’s parks and back roads. We caught up with Brian and Michelle to learn more about their adventures and how Grech RV helps them achieve their vision for spending more time outdoors.
Outside: What inspired you to live on the road?
Brian Cortesio: Honestly, the spark was lit years before we ever set out. I rode in my aunt and uncle’s motorhome from Iowa to Wisconsin as a kid, and the dream of seeing the country by RV never left. In 2018, we both agreed that “normal life” had become monotonous. Michelle wasn’t happy at her job, and I was juggling two jobs and often away. Remembering my childhood trip, I got this idea and asked Michelle, “What if we could both work remotely while we travel?” Six months later, the house and most of our stuff were sold, and we moved into our first home on wheels. Since then, we’ve logged 140,000-plus miles across 48 states and nearly 400 videos. (We document our travels on YouTube at LivinRVision.)
There are so many options when it comes to vans and motorhomes. What drew you to Grech RV?
Brian and Michelle: For us, Grech RV checked every box we care about: quality, reliability, and true off-grid freedom in a nimble footprint. We first noticed the Grech RV Class B luxury motorhomes at an RV show in Pennsylvania. At the time, we had another RV manufacturer interested in us becoming ambassadors, but it wasn’t a good fit. So we started talking to one of the Grech RV employees, and what really stood out was when we asked what they expected from us, their response was, “Just keep doing what you’re doing.” They told us they had no problem with us sharing the truth about anything we find during our time testing their vehicles. That confidence in their product was really compelling. Currently, we’re in the 24-foot Grech Strada-ion. It takes the stress out of travel. It’s easy to park in towns, simple to slip into tight spots, confident on busy highways, and still comfortable for full-time living. The difference maker is Grech Power with the Lithionics 51V system and the NeverDie external BMS: quiet energy that lets us work nine-to-five in air-conditioned comfort and cook and recharge without hunting for hookups. Add the Sprinter safety tech, the smooth ride, smart storage, and the fit and finish—like soft-touch walls, real hardwood cabinetry, well-designed galley and bath—and it feels purpose-built for how we actually live.

How does a Grech RV help you camp off the grid?
Brian and Michelle: The Grech Strada-ion makes off-grid camping easy because the whole coach is built around silent power and smart design. It’s really well suited to longer-term base camps, as the Strada is our vehicle for going everywhere, even to the store, and it automatically recharges the batteries every time we drive. The Grech Power system with a Lithionics 51V battery delivers about 16,896 usable watt-hours, enough to run the 15,000 BTU A/C for about 14 hours while still keeping laptops, induction cooktop, convection oven, and outlets humming. A high-output Arco Zeus alternator rapidly recharges while driving (or even idling), and the rooftop solar helps top things off, so hookups aren’t required even during workdays. Inside, everything is compact and efficient—induction cooking, fridge/freezer, wet bath, ample storage—so you’re comfortable without shore power. And in remote off-road terrain, the Sprinter 3500XD platform with AWD and self-leveling rear air suspension keeps you confident. Net result: fewer campground fees, less time hunting for hookups, and the freedom to explore. It also has much better fuel economy than our past setups.

What are the benefits of using a Class B Motorhome?
Brian and Michelle: Class B vans trade sheer size for freedom. They’re easy to drive, park almost anywhere, and cut the stress of squeezing into tight campgrounds or downtown spots. That agility saves time, fuel, and money. Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform, you get driver-assist tech, strong diesel efficiency, and (optional) AWD. Grech RV adds welcome upgrades like the Kelderman air suspension in the rear for comfort and traction. Inside, smart layouts like a real galley, wet bath, closets, very soft seating, and a powered sofa bed make the more compact layout feel bigger and more livable. Reliability matters, too, as less time in repair shops means more time exploring!

Any advice for people who want to make the outdoors a bigger part of their lives?
Brian and Michelle: If you have a dream to travel more—whether that means full-time or maximizing vacation time—don’t let fear stop you. You want to look back and say, “At least we gave it a try,” instead of always wondering “what if.” Once you have momentum, give a lot of thought to the RV that’s going to best suit your travel style, as well as reduce stress and hassle. Life on the road has plenty of surprises, and your RV shouldn’t be one of them. We know people who have actually given up their dream of traveling just because of all the vehicle troubles they encountered. You truly do get what you pay for. And finally, follow your dreams, but remember our slogan: The difference between visionaries and dreamers is that visionaries make the dreams come true.
Grech RV has set a new standard by defining what a Class B motorhome should be. Building exclusively on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, our camper vans are the perfect complement to the Mercedes-Benz marque. We have raised the bar in the Class B segment. The Grech RV product line offers remarkable craftsmanship, unparalleled fit and finish, and attention to detail that has set a new standard of quality and luxury in the Class B motorhome market.
