GE HealthCare and DeepHealth Expand AI Collaboration to Optimize Ultrasound and Breast Cancer Care

What You Should Know:

GE HealthCare and DeepHealth, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. and a global leader in AI-powered health informatics, have announced their intention to significantly expand their existing strategic collaboration.

– This next phase focuses on advancing the innovation, commercialization, and adoption of AI across multiple imaging modalities.

Collaboration Focus Areas

The original initiative, announced in 2024, successfully united DeepHealth’s AI-powered breast cancer screening workflow solution with GE HealthCare’s Senographe Pristina™ mammography system.

The expanded collaboration will now focus on three key areas:

  • Global Access: Extending access to breast cancer solutions worldwide.
  • Intelligent Clinical Support: Integrating GE HealthCare’s ultrasound imaging with DeepHealth’s AI-powered Thyroid Suite for enhanced decision support and reporting automation.
  • Remote Care: Bringing DeepHealth’s TechLive™ remote scanning solution together with GE HealthCare’s ultrasound portfolio.

AI-Powered Ultrasound: Enhancing Diagnostic Confidence and Efficiency

Ultrasound imaging is notoriously dependent on the sonographer’s skill, and traditional thyroid workflows are burdened by time-consuming manual measurements and reporting. This challenge can strain staff and impact the patient experience.

The integration of the DeepHealth Thyroid Suite aims to solve these issues:

  • Automation: The AI seamlessly automates nodule detection, characterization, and standardizing worksheets and reporting, helping radiologists and sonographers work more efficiently and consistently.
  • Proven Efficiency: RadNet, a major imaging services provider, has demonstrated that the solution can lead to up to a 30% reduction in exam time due to increased workflow efficiency.
  • Confidence: Radiologists accepted AI-generated reports in over 94% of cases, highlighting the system’s accuracy and reliability.

Karley Yoder, CEO of Comprehensive Care Ultrasound at GE HealthCare, expressed confidence: “We look forward to incorporating DeepHealth Thyroid Suite and TechLive into our ultrasound portfolio, and enhancing the capabilities of clinicians to make faster, more confident decisions…”.

TechLive™: Expanding Access with Remote Connectivity

The partnership will also address accessibility and staffing constraints by featuring the planned distribution of DeepHealth’s TechLive™ remote scanning for use with GE HealthCare’s ultrasound products.

This combined solution empowers expert care teams to remotely perform or supervise ultrasound across multiple locations from a single, secure location. By enabling expert teams to guide sonographers in real-time, the solution helps improve access to high-quality ultrasound imaging regardless of geographic location or staffing limitations.
