House Speaker MAGA Mike made an appearance on ABC’s This Week this Sunday and was asked by host Jonathan Karl about the reporters who turned in their press credentials and walked out in unison this Wednesday, rather than agree to the Defense Department’s new restrictions Hegseth wanted to impose on them.
Johnson, of course, defended Hegseth and then pretended that he’s been “very transparent” because he gives a lot of speeches, and also used that as an excuse for them refusing to do their jobs (along with lying again about the government shutdown.)
KARL: Weāre out of time, but I just have to ask you whatās happened at the Pentagon. Do you have a sense for why the secretary of Defense seems to be afraid to interact with journalists who cover him? I mean —
JOHNSON: I reject the premise. Thereās nothing — thereās —
KARL: I mean, the guy — the guy —
JOHNSON: Far is not part of the secretary of warās make-up, OK?
KARL: Well, I mean, the guyās only had two briefings since he was — became secretary of Defense. And — and — and —
JOHNSON: Heās — heās — heās very transparent.
