AVIA Launches Nexus Agentic AI Collaborative to Combat High AI Project Cancellation Rates from HIT Jasmine Pennic

What You Should Know:

AVIA has launched Nexus Agentic AI, a new platform designed to help health systems responsibly adopt Agentic AI. The launch addresses a significant industry risk: more than 40% of Agentic AI projects are expected to be canceled by 2027 due to escalating costs, unclear business value, or inadequate risk controls.

– The new Nexus Collaborative aims to empower health systems to reshape operations, strengthen the workforce, and improve patient access and outcomes.

Uniting Pioneering Systems in a Dual-Track Model

The first cohort of the Nexus Collaborative brings together ten pioneering health systems, including Bon Secours Mercy Health, Boston Children’s Hospital, MedStar Health, and Moffitt Cancer Center. A second cohort is set to launch later this fall in response to strong market demand.

AVIA’s Nexus features a unique dual-track model:

  • Global Track: Participants explore the high-level strategy, ethics, governance, and scaling of Agentic AI for their systems.
  • Application Tracks (Working Groups): Department-specific groups focus on tangible applications in areas such as Nursing Clinical Support, Customer Service and Contact Centers, and Patient Experience.

Accelerating Responsible Adoption and Generating Solutions

This collaborative approach is rooted in the recognition that responsible AI governance is essential. MedStar Health, a participant, believes that being part of AVIA’s Nexus Collaborative will improve their own ability to shape the future of patient care while also generating opportunities and solutions that benefit their peers. Froedtert ThedaCare Health, a continuing AVIA partner, emphasized that the collaborative pushes the envelope to better support patients through the digital transformation of health systems.

“Healthcare leaders recognize the transformative potential of Agentic AI, but many remain early in their adoption journey,” said Clay Holderman, AVIA, CEO. “By bringing together leading health systems and solution innovators, this cohort will bridge the gap between ambition and execution, creating scalable models for a hybrid human-AI workforce.”
