Sophie Turner is ready to dual-wield her way to lost treasure in the first look at Amazon’s forthcoming Tomb Raider series. Donning hero Lara Croft’s classic teal tank top, round tinted glasses, and thigh holsters, Turner—who’s best known for portraying Sansa Stark throughout all eight Game of Thrones seasons—follows Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander as the third woman to take on the live-action role since the original PlayStation game debuted in 1996.

After Turner posted the first look with a caption reading “#TombRaider #WardrobeTest,” several celebrity fans sounded off with approval, including former Maxim cover model Sara Sampaio, who commented, “Sophie!!!!!!! You look soooo good!!!!!”

Spearheaded by Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), the series aims to “unify” the incongruous contexts of the video games, which present Croft as either a raider for sport, a mourning daughter hunting for her lost mother, or a traumatized shipwreck survivor, depending on whether you’re playing the classic 1990s titles, the mid-2000s “Legend” trilogy, or the 2010s “Survivor” trilogy.

Filming is officially underway in Los Angeles, with a story that reportedly follows Lara as she transitions from an academic graduate into the legendary adventurer. The Tomb Raider series will tentatively release in 2027 alongside the upcoming game, Tomb Raider: Catalyst.
