Debauched teenage ways have distilled into the trappings of young adulthood in the new trailer for HBO’s Euphoria Season 3, set five years after the previous season’s finale.
Zendaya’s Rue is a drug dealer who’s made “a deal with the devil.” As is typical in that line of work, she’s incurred a significant amount of debt that’s owed to Martha Kelly’s uncomfortably stern Laurie. Jacob Eldori’s Nate and Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie are together but not happily ever after—”I work all day, and my bride-to-be is spread-eagled on the internet,” Nate says after walking in on Cassie wearing a scanty puppy dog costume on-camera for her “content.”
Hunter Schaefer’s Jules is living the sugar-baby high life in a Manhattan apartment, and the first appearance of Lux singer Rosalía shows the avant-pop Spanish superstar as a stripper. Other returning cast members include Alexa Demie, Chloe Cherry, Maude Apatow and Colman Domingo.
The official logline reads: “A group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil.” We’ll see how many of Euphoria’s troubled 20-somethings find salvation when Euphoria Season 3 debuts April 12 on HBO Max.
