AVIA Expands Agentic AI Collaborative with Second Health System Cohort and New Catalyst Program from HIT Fred Pennic

What You Should Know:

AVIA has expanded its Agentic AI portfolio by launching a second national cohort of seven health systems, including Rush University System for Health and LifeBridge Health, to operationalize AI that “does” rather than just “chats”.

– The announcement also introduces “AVIA Nexus Catalyst,” a new 12-week program launching in early 2026 powered by Lumeris, specifically designed to co-create AI automation frameworks for primary care. The initiative splits its focus between high-level governance strategies and practical application tracks in revenue cycle and patient access.

AVIA Expands Agentic AI Collaborative with Second Health System Cohort and New Catalyst Program

For the past two years, the healthcare industry has been grappling with Generative AI. Now, the conversation is shifting rapidly to Agentic AI—autonomous agents capable of executing complex workflows without constant human hand-holding.

Today, AVIA, a leading digital transformation partner, confirmed this shift is accelerating. Following the success of its initial collaborative in October, the company announced a second national cohort of health systems dedicated to adopting Agentic AI.

The expansion includes seven new organizations—notable heavy hitters like Beacon Health System, LifeBridge Health, and Rush University System for Health. Their participation signals that health systems are moving past the “pilot fatigue” of 2024 and 2025 into a phase of rigorous, scalable deployment.

The Strategy: A “Dual-Track” Approach

Adopting autonomous AI agents in a clinical setting is high-risk. To manage this, AVIA is employing a “dual-track” methodology for the new cohort, separating the thinking from the doing:

  • The Global Track (Governance): This track brings organizations together to tackle the “strategic, ethical, and governance considerations” required to scale AI safely. This is critical for Agentic AI, where the software is given permission to act on behalf of the system.
  • The Application Tracks (Operations): Simultaneously, operational leaders will focus on specific, high-impact use cases. The initial focus areas are revenue cycle, patient access, and patient communications—areas where administrative friction is highest and the risk to patient safety is managed.

The goal is to ensure systems “translate enterprise strategy into real-world, measurable use cases” rather than getting stuck in theoretical governance committees.

Enter “Nexus Catalyst”: Fixing Primary Care

Beyond the collaborative cohort, AVIA is launching a new product engine: AVIA Nexus Catalyst. Launching in early 2026, this 12-week program is designed to be an accelerator for problem-solving. It unites health systems directly with solution providers to “co-create actionable frameworks”.

The inaugural Catalyst program will be powered by Lumeris, a company known for value-based care outcomes. This specific track will focus on primary care, exploring how Agentic AI can unlock financial and operational efficiencies in a sector notoriously burdened by burnout and administrative paperwork.

“We’re excited to help health systems more quickly optimize their technology and support solution companies in enhancing their products,” said Clay Holderman, CEO of AVIA.
