Supermodel, influencer and reality TV star Kendall Jenner is showing off her newly-built mountain getaway—a bold, pattern-rich abode designed in collaboration with architect Kirby Lee and interior designer Heidi Caillier. The three-bedroom residence, tucked away in a secret mountain locale, reveals a major embrace of color, texture and vintage touches, according to a new video tour from Architectural Digest.
At the heart of the luxury retreat is an oversized sectional sofa upholstered in 50 yards of Lee Jofa’s Hollyhock Handblock—a classic “grandma-chic” floral fabric. Jenner calls it the statement piece of the living room. “There has never been a doubt in my mind about the fabric,” she tells AD.
Throughout the house, the décor leans into warm nostalgia and playful contrast. The entryway features a window seat in Pierre Frey tartan against walls painted Benjamin Moore’s Clinton Brown. In the living room, a bench wrapped in Heather Taylor Home fabric sits beside a 2001 cherry-sunburst studio piano and a Yamaha acoustic guitar. The open kitchen—anchored by a blue Lacanche range and clad in Calacatta Viola marble countertops—leads directly into the living space.
Jenner, who grew up enjoying summer horseback outings in Wyoming, bought the secluded mountain property about five years ago. After walking through an initially dilapidated home, she opted for a fresh ground-up construction. Jenner says that she and Lee drew up the blueprints, then brought in Caillier to supply the texture and personality. “I love color, and I love pattern,” she said. “It was really fun for my creative side … to just be like, you know what? I’m just gonna go for it and do things differently here.”
The interior is a maximalist explosion of layered textiles, vintage furniture, custom finishes and quirky touches. One bathroom sports a bright yellow sink and toilet by The Water Monopoly, while the primary bath is defined by checkerboard tiles and rich Farrow & Ball paneling. One notable flourish is the use of a 2020 Airstream Bambi—once leftover from a birthday gift—has been transformed into a guest suite with wood veneer walls, vintage linens and a zinc tub. Jenner quipped it’s “the cute spot where you put that one friend who booked the trip super last minute.”
Jenner is just the latest celebrity home spotlighted by Architectural Digest, which has recently toured homes by the likes of DJ/producer Zedd, actress Zooey Deschanel, and breakout country singer Lainey Wilson. Check out the full tour in AD‘s video above.
