Cold Calls

Film Focus: “No script. No plan. Just winter.”

Where to Watch: In-person on the Salomon QST Film Tour (September–November) and online via YouTube this November.

Sometimes the best ski days aren’t planned. They’re the ones that come together from a last-minute phone call and a good dose of luck. That’s the spirit behind Cold Calls, the latest feature from Blank Collective Films.

Pieced together from spontaneous trips and raw conversations, the film embraces the unpredictability of winter. You’ll move through the ski season alongside several winter athletes as they enjoy playful powder laps and venture through serious high-mountain objectives around the world. Each segment telling a different story: some lighthearted, some heavy, but all stitched together with the stoke of chasing snow wherever it falls.

Expect to see some familiar faces, including Emma Patterson, Alexi Godbout, Jacob Belanger, Alex Armstrong, Bernt Marius Rorstad, Wyatt Gentry, Josh Daiek, and Tom Peiffer, delivering a mix of big lines, deep powder, and candid moments that remind us why we drop everything when the mountains call. Expect a balance of jaw-dropping cinematography and the playful camaraderie that has become Blank Collective’s trademark style.

Cold Calls is now touring in select cities, with dates available on Salomon’s QST Film Tour site. If you can’t make it in person, the film will premiere online this November for free on Blank Collective Films’ YouTube channel. Until then, you can catch the official trailer here.

Warren Miller’s “SNO-CIETY”

Film Focus: A celebration of the people, places, and traditions that make up ski and snowboard culture.

Where to Watch: The 76th Warren Miller Film Tour runs October–December in 300+ U.S. cities and select international stops.

For over seven decades, Warren Miller Entertainment has set the tone for winter with its annual feature film. This year’s installment, titled SNO-CIETY, marks the 76th chapter in that tradition. Instead of focusing solely on big descents, the film digs deeper into the community that surrounds the sport, creating a portrait of winter culture that transforms snowy landscapes into a society all its own.

The film takes viewers through the Scottish Highlands and Finland, and then back to North America, featuring segments in Whitewater, BC, and even a local hill-turned-terrain park in downtown Denver. Along the way, a star-studded cast including Judd Henkes, Britta Winans, Daron Rahlves, Breezy Johnson, Chris Rubens, Sarka Pancochova, and many more, bring their personalities and skills to the screen.

Pressure Drop

Film Focus: TGR’s 30th annual film celebrates skiing and snowboarding by exploring the razor-thin line between calm and chaos.

Where to Watch: The Pressure Drop World Tour begins Sept.13, 2025, with more than 200 stops worldwide.

For three decades, Teton Gravity Research has been at the forefront of big-mountain storytelling, and their 30th annual film, Pressure Drop, continues that legacy. This project pays tribute to that brief moment when gravity takes over and nothing else matters. It is a raw, visceral celebration of life lived on the fall line. Expect a blend of massive descents and high-stakes riding, brought to life by TGR’s signature mix of jaw-dropping cinematography and athlete-driven storytelling.

Shot on location in Jackson Hole, the Lofoten Islands of Norway, Alaska’s legendary terrain, and beyond, Pressure Drop brings together some of the world’s top skiers and snowboarders to push their limits in iconic landscapes. The film is both a nod to TGR’s history and a look ahead at how the culture continues to evolve, reminding us why these athletes dedicate their lives to chasing lines most of us only dream about.

The Pressure Drop World Tour kicks off Sept. 13th, with more than 200 stops planned. Visit Teton Gravity Research for tickets and tour details.

Ornada: The Armada Team Movie

Film Focus: A two-year team project blending cutting-edge freeskiing, art, and music into a journey through skiing’s past, present, and future.

Where to Watch: Select screenings in Salt Lake City, Newport Beach, Innsbruck, New York, and Quebec City

Few brands embody the spirit of freeskiing like Armada, and their long-awaited team movie, Ornada, is a testament to that. Two years in the making, the film explores the connections between skiing and art, encompassing both visual and auditory elements. More than a highlight reel, Ornada is an immersive experience designed to capture both the raw creativity of skiing and the culture that has grown around it.

With a stacked roster featuring icons like Tanner Hall, Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, and Sammy Carlson, alongside the fresh style of Olivia Asselin, Dani Bacher, and Rell Harwood, Ornada showcases every side of modern skiing. The film balances big-mountain progression with the skate-inspired, underground energy that has always defined Armada by bringing the audience down massive Alaskan lines and gritty street sessions.

As Armada celebrates over two decades of shaping freeskiing culture, Ornada serves as both a love letter to the past and a glimpse of what’s next. Viewers can expect surreal visuals and a soundtrack that makes the whole thing feel more like a concert than a traditional ski film. Premiere stops begin this fall, so keep an eye on Armada’s channels for full release info.

Out of the Ordinary!

Film Focus: A chaotic and refreshingly offbeat look at skiing through the lens of the HEAD Freeski Team.

Where to Watch: Premiering Nov. 22, 2025, with global digital release and select screenings.

For its third annual team film, HEAD Freeski takes a sharp turn away from convention. Out of the Ordinary isn’t a straightforward sequel to Beyond and Unified; instead, it’s a playful detour into the quirks and outright obsession that bond this eclectic team together. “From strike missions, to lodge life, to bucket list adventures, to unscripted flashes that remind you that skiing is beautifully ridiculous,” the film captures skiing in its rawest, most unpredictable form.

Shot across a globe-spanning list of locations, including the fjords of Norway, powder pillows of Japan, big lines of Alaska, and the alpine huts of British Columbia, Out of the Ordinary highlights both the serious talent and the offbeat personality of the HEAD roster. With a cast that includes Freeride World Tour champions, Olympic medalists, and rising stars like Jess Hotter, Hedvig Wessel, Emil Granbom, Zoe Atkin, and Jesper Tjäder, the film balances athlete performance with a sense of humor and community.

Directed by Jeff Thomas, Out of the Ordinary thrives on the oddball details that make ski culture so magnetic. It’s a reminder that, beyond the podiums and first descents, what keeps us coming back to winter is the joy of the unexpected and the people we share it with.

Big Mountain Soul: Ski the World

Film Focus: A documentary following the NBS Team as they ski the world’s backcountry to promote Black excellence and accessibility in winter sports.

Where to Watch: Feature-length release and tour dates to be announced; currently seeking distribution and partner support.

Big Mountain Soul: Ski The World chronicles a historic mission: to ski the seven continents while spotlighting the National Brotherhood of Snowsports (NBS) Team’s dedication to representation and inclusion in winter sports. Fifteen years in the making, the film captures African American athletes from all walks of life as they explore iconic and remote backcountry terrain, highlighting the cultures, landscapes, and joy of skiing around the globe.

Henri Rivers, National President of NBS, says the film’s mission is transformative: “It’s focused on changing the dynamic in our culture and in our society. So that 5-year-old that’s in Brooklyn, they’re sitting in their school, looking out the window, and what do they see? They see buildings. They see smog. They see litter. They see pollution. They don’t see mountains, but now they’re starting to realize that it is in the equation and the mountains are there for them as well.” The documentary showcases community initiatives and youth programs, tying the thrill of skiing to a larger vision of access and empowerment.

This project serves as both a feature-length celebration of skiing and a fundraising platform for NBS’s nonprofit programs, making it a landmark story in winter sports and African-American history.
