Woman hit by plane in soccer field, survives from the Hill Steph Whiteside

A California woman was hit by a plane Tuesday and was transported to a hospital, where she is in moderate but stable condition.

The Long Beach Fire Department said an aircraft made an emergency landing on a soccer field at a park.

Preliminary information shows the plane originated from Compton, Calif., and flew to French Valley, Calif. The plane was returning to Compton when the incident occurred.

The small aircraft was on its belly with broken landing gears and an intact fuselage, first responders said.

The pilot was an elderly man who was removed from the plane and taken to a hospital by paramedics.

During the landing, the plane collided with a woman in her 40s who was walking in the park. She was also taken to a hospital.

Both the pilot and the pedestrian are in moderate but stable condition.
